TBH, although the Gold System is encouraging traffic, it is causing "as you feared" a lot on nonsence.
ppl do just want to have a look around and pick off what they want. They don't want to chat
Alternatively and to give it a chance, you could increase the moderators permissions to include "Chatbox and comments" this will allow us to remove unwanted and un-called for submissions.

Could this possibily be a problem with the theme - just the fact that it isn't a core theme. I dunno, but they always ask that at e107.org when people notice a bug.

I was wondering ... if you send news, or a link or an upload without being accepted as post by the admin, would that user still receive its credits? Personally, I don't think it should.
I've tried it locally and looks like the moment you pressed the send button, you get the credits while the news posts still waits for the admin to approve it ...
